What is Krav Maga DEFCON®?
Krav Maga DEFCON® is a self-defense system, trained in scenarios – with one goal: getting you out of a threat safely.
No combat sport, no competitions, no trophies. Self-defense isn't a trophy but a skill you keep up: not learned once and ticked off, but trained again and again. You can join from age 16 – with whatever you bring.
It always starts with an attack. Someone attacks you, crowds you, leaves you no choice. Then what counts is what you can call up: creating distance, blocking strikes, breaking grips, striking back – and getting out of the situation. That's physically demanding and sometimes uncomfortable, just like a real threat. We train methodically, with a plan: When do I defend myself? Where's my way out? How do I use my strength effectively?
Personal safety starts before the attack. You learn to read situations, set boundaries and stay able to act under stress. The better your personal safety, the less likely it is that you'll have to defend yourself physically. And if it does come to that, you've practiced what matters then.
A system that keeps evolving. Our instructors are trained at the association's headquarters in Villingen-Schwenningen and keep up their training regularly. The association's teaching team keeps putting the techniques to the test and developing them further.
How well self-defense works in a real emergency – and what no one can promise – is covered in our article How effective is Krav Maga really? (in German)
What you'll learn with us
Assaults rarely start with a punch. They start quietly – with someone moving in, testing your boundaries.
On your way home, just before eleven. The train is almost empty.
-
Awareness
Spotting early signs, seeing ways out.
Someone sits down right next to you, even though every seat is free. You notice before he sits down.
-
De-escalation
Distance, body language, words.
You get up, walk toward the door, keep your distance. Calm, no argument.
-
Standing your ground
Setting boundaries with your voice.
He follows you. You turn around, hand out: "Stop. Leave me alone." Loud. Everyone looks over.
-
Escalation
Fend off the attack, counter right away, get out. As hard as necessary, as short as possible.
He grabs your arm. You break the grip – and get out, toward other people.
The foundation is your mindset: the will to act – and the inner permission to defend yourself.
In a real emergency, a lot is decided early. In training, we mostly practice the hardest part: defending yourself.
The earlier you act, the more options you have. We train all of it – again and again.
The attacker alone is responsible for an assault – never the person it happens to.
Nobody wants to have to fight. But everyone should be able to defend themselves.

For everyone from 16 who wants or needs to feel safer at work or in everyday life:

- and everyone else
Under 18 with your parents' consent.
Not a sport, not a show
Krav Maga is not a competitive sport. No competitions, no trophies. Self-defense is a skill you keep up: trained again and again, never learned once and ticked off. We train in scenarios – demanding, sometimes uncomfortable, but never overwhelming. The goal: that you get out safely.
Your pace
You don't need any experience or special fitness. You decide how far you go. Nobody gets attacked without warning. You learn to use what you bring – even if the other person is stronger.
If someone has a criminal record for a violent offense or shows a readiness to use violence in training, we don't accept them.
What a class looks like
Every class lasts 90 minutes
