Self-defense for kids in Stuttgart

For children from about 5 to 10, we have a program of its own: OmniKids. It isn't a scaled-down version of adult training, but built for children from the ground up – with its own groups, its own training location in Stuttgart-Süd and its own website.

Children at OmniKids training in Stuttgart, with the lion as a symbol of inner courage

Why a program of its own?

Children aren't small adults. The most important skill comes long before any technique: noticing that something isn't right – and having the courage to say it out loud. That's why OmniKids starts with self-worth and works its way outward. The techniques from Krav Maga come last, translated for children: breaking free, creating distance, running away, getting help.

More about this in our article: Why we created a program of its own (in German).

What your child learns

  • Saying no and setting boundaries
  • Trusting their gut feeling
  • Understanding and managing feelings
  • Recognizing danger and getting help
  • Breaking free, running away, fighting back – Krav Maga for kids

The program rests on five pillars, from self-worth to self-defense. Each topic has an animal hero whose story stays with the children for weeks – so what they learn sticks.

Two ways in

OmniKids course – your child trains on their own in a small, regular group (about 6 to 10 years).

OmniKids Tandem – one parent trains along (about 5 to 8 years). For younger or shy children, it's the gentler way to start.

Training takes place at IDOGOHAUS in Stuttgart-Süd. The trial class is free. Times, fees and how to request a spot are on omni.kids.

Who's behind it

OmniKids is led by Julia and Benjamin Wiedenbruch, who also run Krav Maga DEFCON® Stuttgart – since 2009 one of the very first Krav Maga schools in Stuttgart. Julia is a licensed psychotherapist (Psychologische Psychotherapeutin), Benjamin a specialist in violence prevention.

Older children and teens

Our training for teens and adults starts at age 16. For girls from 12 to about 16, we're starting a class of their own → Girls' class from 12 (in German). For all other 11- to 15-year-olds, we currently don't have a group of our own – feel free to call us, and we'll honestly tell you what fits.
